TECHNOLOGY The first computer ever made was almost 2.5m and weighed nearly 30,000kg- more than 60 times heavier than an average computer today
ENIAC The ENIAC was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania and began construction in 1943 and was not completed until 1946. It occupied about 1,800 square feet and used about 18,000 vacuum tubes, weighing almost 50 tons.
Apple Computers
The QWERTY layout used for the English language. It was originally invented for a new form of typewriter.
It was created for the Sholes and Glidden typewriter and sold to E. Remington and Sons in 1873. It became popular with the success of the Remington No. 2 of 1878, and remains in ubiquitous use.
